The Genres That Inspire Me

The Books that Form Me

Classics – From Jane Austen to Jane Eyre, I have attempted to gather them all. This blog will hopefully open the door for me to read more, along with the books from my generation written in their likeness.

Addie La Rue is a Genre all herself – VE Schwab is of course a Genius, and I’m only just discovering all of her work. We’ll definitely be covering her a lot in this blog. And I’m so honored to have read it and to know what it means both as a reader, and to its creator.

Romantasy is the best couple name – it may have started with Twilight (read my first author post “Why Everyone Should Give SJM a Try”) but romance and world building go together better than Brangelina (if you don’t know, this blog is too old for you).

India Holton is a Genre all herself – I may have no idea what’s coming next for her, but I will be there when it does. She’s got big things coming, I can already feel it.

Magic is life – All forms of witchcraft (made by tolerant humans that is) is a win in my book. Deborah Harkness’s historical witchcraft, however, does it the absolute best.

Allyship/social justice is life – I want to read all the rebel books. Pierce Brown wasn’t my first, but he was my best. LOL
