Who I Am
Welcome to a safe space! I am so happy you’re here, and I can’t wait to share with you! I’m Bernie, a California girlie who can’t narrow down a favorite genre, let alone a favorite book! This blog is an amalgamation of my thoughts, studies, and wild range of reading interests. Follow along and share your own thoughts. I’m Writing A Story About Super Heroes!
My first attempt at this fantasy adjacent genre is a trilogy about people in San Diego with special genetic super powers, called Talents. My heroes are three very different Talented people who find themselves at the pillars of a terrible systemic pandemic. Everything I write about and study are all leading me to be the best writer I can. I truly hope to be as good as authors like SJM and VE Schwab. But I know it’ll take a lot of work, practice and research to get there. Follow my progress as I learn my process..
Why should you listen to what I have to say?
I have no idea. I’m just a person like anyone else. But I care about people, I see the truth from where I stand, and I’m determined to be on the right side of society. But should you listen to me over your own voice? Of course not! But if I can help you learn something, I want to. And if you’ve got something to teach me about acceptance, appreciation, or community, I want to hear from you too!
Why All the Sub Categories?
I love ALL kinds of stories, from books to television, and on to music and art. Happy endings are my favorite, life is sad enough. I want I’ll accept a sad ending if it comes with a chance to get out a good cry. It all leads to inspiration for my own books, which are going to be filled with the sadness of real life and the happy endings of the fantasy book I devour daily.
