Reader Advisory: August

It’s been a BIG month of reading, thanks to audiobooks! I read so many great books this month, but I definitely have some favorites. My Best Friend’s Honeymoon was honestly life changing, and I don’t normally go for friend’s to lovers. But it set me up for others like Baby Dragon Bakery, which was absolutely…

Romantasy:

Title: Filthy Rich Fae

Author: Geneva Lee

Age: Smut Age. Definitely smut age

Vibe: Enemies to lovers (Geneva’s artistry honestly)

Genre: Romantasy

Stars: 3

Intrigue: 5 – It definitely got me!

Best Part: Cate is a bad bitch

Summary: Cate Halloway knows the unspoken rule of New Orleans: avoid the powerful Gage crime family at all costs. Of course, that was before her brother got caught in their chaos. Now Cate has no choice but to confront the dark and forbidding prince of New Orleans himself and beg for her brother’s life. But Lachlan Gage is as lethal as he is beautiful … and the only currency he’s interested in is her soul. Because he’s obsessed with her. Obviously, chaos ensues.

Title: Filthy Rich Vampires

Author: Geneva Lee

Age: Adult

Vibe: Love, found family, delightful fighting between the FMC and her obsessed man

Genre: Romantasy

Stars: 3

Intrigue: 3

Best Part: the writing is so good.

Summary: Julian Rousseaux has a problem. He’s single, and for thhe world’s wealthiest vampires, the social season is about to begin. Julian would rather stake himself than participate in in the marriage market. When cellist Thea literally stumbles into his life at a gala, he knows she’s the last person he could ever fall in love with. So, Julian makes Thea an irresistible          offer: pretend to be his lover and he’ll change her life. But with each moment they share, new dangers emerge: a desire as forbidden as their stolen touches, an awakening of a long-dead heart, and secrets that could tear them both apart.

Title: Filthy Rich Fae: Fallen Court

Author: Geneva Lee

Age: Adult

Vibe: Revenge, soulmates, more fighting

Genre: Romantasy

Stars: 3

Intrigue: 3

Best Part: Geneva Lee really uses her fantasy novels to address big issues and it’s fascinating. But as you’ll see, I did not have time to finish these series because they are a little predictable.

Summary: Cate thought she knew darkness. As a trauma nurse, she had witnessed the worst of humanity. But nothing – not the blood, the violence, or the despair – could have prepared her for the fae underworld. A realm where beauty is a weapon, desire is a trap, and mortals who stray too far don’t return. She almost didn’t. Until Lachlan Gage – shadowed, ruthless, and feared even among his own kind – bound her to him with a deadly bargain. Something ancient is rising in the dark, warping fae magic into something unnatural and cruel. It has nothing to do with Cate’s past – or so she tells herself. There is only one thing more dangerous than the fae who would kill for her. The fae who would die for her.
