This is the year I attack the literary magazines, finally. But it’s no secret there’s way more responses labeled “no” than those with yes’s. I enjoy writing short stories and I love a good attempt at poetry, so those no’s don’t mean as much as the experience writing. So if the literary magazines don’t want them, I’ll post them myself.
It’s for the practice and joy anyway! I still want a place to put my work and come back to it, and display for other people to understand my vibe and voice. And they’ll be here for me to tweak or steal for a future novel.
I still want to publish traditionally, and I plan to. The first draft of When We Save the Day should be done this year! But to wait that long to share my work, and to connect with other readers and writers, would be such a waste. So I’m here to do as much as I can, and put out as much as I feel proud of.
I want to publish yours too! I’m either going to make a list of awesome blogs and authors I discover, or I’m going to offer a section for people who are looking for somewhere to get their writing out while they figure their own path. If you want to connect with me, let’s make it happen!
